About Aries, Mr. Fluffy!

Aries, oh Aries. There is so much to say about this six year old little man. He is an umbrella cockatoo that we have had since he was six months old. He loves being around the family and thinks he is in charge. He is finally getting into the age of picking up words without us catching. Whenever my step daughter is singing in the shower without out, he gets so mad at her and screams to get her attention. He loves to watch the birds outside and even tries to talk to them, however, he ends up scaring them away. I feel so bad for him when that happens because he will end up crying and not knowing what he did wrong.

His Routine

Like most animals and kids, Aries also loves to have a routine. He is usually up and playing around 7 am. If I am not up to feed him by 730 am, let’s say he is yelling and screaming until I am up and he has his scrambled eggs with toast or some oatmeal (without milk) for his morning breakfast. During the day, my family and I give him a little bit of what we are eating as long as it doesn’t harm him. Usually he takes an afternoon nap so he can stay awake longer at night. Before he goes to bed between 8 pm and 11 pm, he wants to have some cuddle time with me while we watch a movie.

His favorite food

One would think that animals would not have some favorite foods but this little fluster has a few favorite items. He is enjoying fruit with the summer here. Apples, oranges, grapes and sometimes bananas are what he is enjoying at the time. He loves any kind of nut that he can open. He truly enjoys ice cream from vanilla bean to the apple la mode from coldstone creamery. For real, if he sees that container of ice cream out and you do not share with him, he will give you the evil eye and ignore you the rest of the night. He does love coffee, but he doesn’t get that very often. Popcorn is another little snack he enjoys. It is funny with him. He will try things over and over even though he doesn’t like the food.
