Review Policy

General Review Policy

Any books that I review, I have purchased myself or was given to me for a honest review. I do not make any money off of my reviews. I will never accept a payment from the reviews. Within every post, I will state either the book was purchased or given.

Now, I am accepting any book reviews from authors and publishers. However, I do work full time. Please be cautious that quick readings for reviews may not happen. I would prefer a time span of at least 2 weeks to complete a book.

If you wish to send me a book or anything to review, please visit my Contact page.

However, I may refuse a book if I feel that it is not something that I would enjoy reading. Down below you will find a list of the genres that I prefer to read. If I know someone else that would like to review that type of book, I will see what I can do to pass that information along.

When I do reviews, I will always take someone’s feelings into consideration. If I am having a hard time with the book, I will contact the person who asked me to review the book. During that time, we will discuss the next step. Those steps may be to abandon the review, or something else.

Elements of My Reviews

Below is a list of what my reviews will always have in them so that way everyone is aware of my set up and aware of what elements will be done and brought out in the book review.

  • About the Author Section: I do like to include an image of the author and a bio of the author.
  • Book Cover: This will be pulled from the ISBN number or if the person has provided me with their book cover.
  • Links to the following:
    • Goodreads and/or BookBub (if available)
    • Author’s homepage, blog, twitter, other social media
    • Amazon or other places to where the book might be available to purchase.
  • My Personal Rating: On a scale of 1 though 5. This is my own personal rating of the book and it is not being influenced by anyone else.
  • Official Synopsis: This will also be pulled from the ISBN number of the book or if the person has provided me with the official synopsis of the story.
Details on the Rating System
  • Rating of a 5 : I couldn’t put the book down. I would highly recommend this book. Definitely be adding the rest of the books of the series or author to my To Be Read List.
  • Rating of a 4:  It was a great book. I enjoyed it and it was a fun read.
  • Rating of a 3: It was alright. Probably something I may not read again but also something that I did enjoy.
  • Rating of a 2: If I couldn’t get into it for long periods of time. Maybe it was a book that needed to have a lot of breaks from. Hard to grasp certain elements or the story.
  • Rating of a 1: I did not enjoy this. It was probably very hard for me to get into the book. I would not recommend.
  • Rating DNF: this generally meant that I couldn’t finish the book. Usually a review with this won’t go up and that is when I will have a discussion with the author/publisher on why I couldn’t finish reading the book.
Details on the Red Room Review Spice Rating System
  • Rating of a 5 : This of this as the Wildfire or I need a cold shower right now rating. This will be when there is more “action” than anything else or a mix of other elements like, full clear detailed descriptions of everything, multiple partners/multiple bdsm elements, questioning everything basically… Mostly smut.
  • Rating of a 4:  This is the level of where the room is getting hot and steamy, you have a couple fanning moments. This will be the type that usually has more detail than rating 1 but more than 3 sex scenes, possibly harder bdsm elements, basically a notch above normal where it mixes the tender with the rough.
  • Rating of a 3: Starting to feel that heat… This is the nice middle ground for spice. We have wonderful description, we have full scenes, there is intense build up. Probably has more than 1 sex scene. This is really that tender with some soft roughness. Maybe some soft bdsm elements mixed into it.
  • Rating of a 2: Feeling the sparks and the teasing. This is the type that I would feel is a complete build up through out the whole book. Then we get probably one full description scene that may not be rough and usually pretty tender. For me this is like that Rated R in the movie rating.
  • Rating of a 1: The teasing… Complete teasing of a book. Probably a lot of build up and in detail however, no description on the scenes. We probably had the action suggested or a fade away happened. This is more of like that romance book that is flirting with the Rated R. It is the I am dipping my toes in the water kind of book.
Genres I currently am reading:
  • Paranormal : Basically anything in this category that has to deal with paranormal I will read.
  • Romance : Currently read from the sweet clean innocent to the holy smokes is it hot in here or just me. The darker or erotica stories, I will be more picky on just so that way my triggers don’t happen.
  • Dystopian : Love an amazing story in this category. This is a genre that I enjoy doing to break up my romance books.
  • Fantasy : This is a new genre that I am dipping my toes into. So far this is a good place to be. Always bringing the good feelings and enjoyable tales that come with it.
  • Mysteries : Growing up reading mysteries. This is a genre that I can get into a kick with especially if it is a series. My mom and my aunt got me into this book genre at a young age. Its always a race to see if I can figure it out before the end of the book.
  • Sci-fi : Another genre that I am wanting to read but I notice I am fairly picky with.
  • Young Adult : Who doesn’t love this genre. If someone doesn’t like this genre I think I may have to question their thoughts.
  • New Adult : This is where most of my books, besides paranormal, are in. This will be a genre I would rarely say no to.
  • Horror : Love me a good scare. Horror is what I game on my PlayStation, what I love to watch so it only makes sense to read them as well.
Automatic Nope Genres:
  • Biographies
  • Memoirs
  • Nonfiction
  • Some triggering BDSM themed books
Book Formats

The type of formats that I will accept is from physical books to e-books/digital. I read off of my phone in the Kindle app a lot.

If you want to send me a physical book, please email me so I can provide you with the address to send that to. Physical books will always be completed prior to digital books.

When it comes to series to be reviewed, I do ask that if your books are needing to be read in a certain order to please provide me with the previous books. That way I am not lost and I can focus on the story instead of trying to figure out the back story.

To Submit a book for review:
